Spring Break

Back to life... we have returned from a wonderful trip to Topsail, NC with all of Brewster's immediate family. I think it is the first time we have all been together at the same place at the same time. It was nice to get to spend time at the beach and enjoy the quiet sounds of the ocean. Graham's first tooth popped through on our ride down and his second tooth popped in on Easter morning! You could say his Bunny Ears came in for Easter!

We spent a lot of time eating very well. All of us took turns cooking yummy dishes! Graham had my mashed potatoes for the first time on Easter and fell asleep eating them- I guess all the cream & butter filled him up. Thankfully- there were 5 flights of stairs to get from the house to the beach- it made me feel less guilty about eating so much! I giggled watching my niece Kaileigh tell her mommy that she wasn't hungry- then sneak out back to pop a few pieces of Easter chocolate in her mouth! It reminded me of when I was little-It was awesome to wake up Easter morning to see her eating the ears off of her chocolate bunny for breakfast! That is a cool Mom!!

My mother in law did a "Golden Egg" hunt for the girls! I searched high and low- finally after about 3 hours- I found it! Emily & I were within inches of it at the same time- what a squeal of joy I let out- I loved finding it!!

I had a great time watching my son experience the beach and ocean for the first time. In the afternoon, the tide was low and left behind little tide pools- they were warmed by the sun and created great splash opportunities for Graham. He seemed so mesmerized by all of the sensations- I was mesmerized by him! Brewster and I took a long, slow walk down the beach. It was nice to have a little time alone with each other.

Graham and his cousin Aubrey enjoyed watching each other and playing together. It was cute to watch them in action. I am looking forward to watching them grow together.

Spring has finally arrived in Richmond- our yard is looking great thanks to Brewster. He is passionate about it looking great! I think he gets that from his grandfather. I am hoping to spend time out in the garden this summer- at least cutting the pretty flowers he is planting!

Spring Has Arrived??

Ah Spring! We have had a busy few weeks. We have been visiting friends and family. Graham has a few friends! The picture shows him with his very good friend Zac. He is the son of my very close friend Sherry. We love to get together as often as possible. We are hoping to get a night of camping in sometime in the near future- before the mosquitoes are out in full force.

Graham will be 6 months old on April 3rd. He is growing so fast! I am so happy to say I found a new trick to get him to sleep all night- or only wake up once! I have had 2 nights of rest and am so thankful for them! He is rolling over both ways and eating regularly. I am making his food from scratch-no more jarred food! I really want to give him the best possible nutrition and get him into eating regular food so I won't have to prepare special meals for him!

He has decided that he will no longer take a bottle- so he is drinking from a sippy cup these days. He is also very into drinking from my cups. He really enjoys playing with his toys and spending time in his saucer, jumper and walker.

He started at a new daycare 2 weeks ago- he seems to really enjoy it! He gets more personal interaction as he is only 1 of 3 babies they keep.

In the past few weeks we have visited Sherry & Jason, His Great Grandparents and Steve, Jie, Isabelle & Peyton! The time we spent with his Great Grandparents was nice. Graham kept smiling and giggling! Graham loved spending time with Steve & Jie's girls. They are 6 & 4- they ate him up and kept saying "Ah he's so cute!". Graham really liked Isabelle- he kept reaching out for hugs from her!

Brewster is off this weekend- it is supposed to rain. Kat, Rusty, Kaileigh and Aubrey are coming over on Saturday for dinner. We are looking forward to spending time with them. I am hoping that Brewster will re-do our bathroom with his off time- Our medicine cabinet detached from the wall on Monday and left a big ugly hole- so now I want to paint it, put in a new light, new window covering and a new medicine cabinet! I'll let you know how that goes!

Goodbye my Friend

It is with extreme sadness that we say goodbye to our Smokey Blue. He was taken from us too early-he was only 5 and we had him for almost 4 years. It has been a difficult year- we said goodbye to Birkly in April of 2008 and to Smokey on St. Patricks Day, 2009. It was totally unexpected and we definitely gave him the best life possible. We will miss you our beloved, Mr. Blue! We hope you and Birkly are having a great time at the Rainbow Bridge. We all miss you terribly- you will be impossible to replace.

Happy Almost Spring

I am finally convinced that a Blog spot is a good idea! Trying to keep up with requests for photos from our far away relatives is not easy- this is the best way to allow our friends and family to keep up at the convenience.

At five months old, Graham is officially a Chunk a Munk! He is almost 20 pounds and still growing at a rapid rate. He is the best thing I have ever done in my life! I love seeing his beautiful smile every morning- it is so awesome to start the day seeing his big, happy smile! No matter how tired I am- it is worth it when I see his joyful approach to each day.

We had our first snow last week- almost a foot! We tried to out as a family and sleigh ride-no chance! We got all bundled up and went outside. Before we could get 5 minutes into the snow, Graham was wailing! He did not like being so bundled up. I ran home as best as I could to get him undone as quickly as possible. After he was unbundled- he was a happy camper. Brewster stayed out and tried to sleigh ride- he said it wasn't much fun alone!

I did take the opportunity to go out and run around with my other two boys! Smokey and Maxx loved running around in it. Maxx wasn't sure what to think at first- but once he figured out how to manage he was all over the place!

The snow has melted away and we have had a few gorgeous days- the temperature is 80 & it is sunny today! Brewster is steadily preparing our yard to be gorgeous! I am so glad he has the drive to have one of the best yards on the block! I am looking forward to spending a lot of time with Graham outside this summer! When Brewster is working late to keep the greens from frying- Graham & I will play outback!
