Spring Break

Back to life... we have returned from a wonderful trip to Topsail, NC with all of Brewster's immediate family. I think it is the first time we have all been together at the same place at the same time. It was nice to get to spend time at the beach and enjoy the quiet sounds of the ocean. Graham's first tooth popped through on our ride down and his second tooth popped in on Easter morning! You could say his Bunny Ears came in for Easter!

We spent a lot of time eating very well. All of us took turns cooking yummy dishes! Graham had my mashed potatoes for the first time on Easter and fell asleep eating them- I guess all the cream & butter filled him up. Thankfully- there were 5 flights of stairs to get from the house to the beach- it made me feel less guilty about eating so much! I giggled watching my niece Kaileigh tell her mommy that she wasn't hungry- then sneak out back to pop a few pieces of Easter chocolate in her mouth! It reminded me of when I was little-It was awesome to wake up Easter morning to see her eating the ears off of her chocolate bunny for breakfast! That is a cool Mom!!

My mother in law did a "Golden Egg" hunt for the girls! I searched high and low- finally after about 3 hours- I found it! Emily & I were within inches of it at the same time- what a squeal of joy I let out- I loved finding it!!

I had a great time watching my son experience the beach and ocean for the first time. In the afternoon, the tide was low and left behind little tide pools- they were warmed by the sun and created great splash opportunities for Graham. He seemed so mesmerized by all of the sensations- I was mesmerized by him! Brewster and I took a long, slow walk down the beach. It was nice to have a little time alone with each other.

Graham and his cousin Aubrey enjoyed watching each other and playing together. It was cute to watch them in action. I am looking forward to watching them grow together.

Spring has finally arrived in Richmond- our yard is looking great thanks to Brewster. He is passionate about it looking great! I think he gets that from his grandfather. I am hoping to spend time out in the garden this summer- at least cutting the pretty flowers he is planting!
